Rory Vaden discusses 5 permissions that will free you from “not enough time.” They are simple in concept and like most ideas, more challenging to implement. These five choices – eliminate, automate, delegate, procrastinate, and concentrate – turn into permissions for ignoring, investing, imperfection, incompleteness, and protection. The book is an easy read. These were my 3 takeaways:

  • Instead of focusing what to add for success, look for things I can stop.
  • Managing time is one dimensional. Really I am managing myself (and I’m not one dimensional!).
  • Never send anything negative or “constructive” over email. Email is a horrible translator and repair takes time.
