“There is no group of Americans more pessimistic than working class whites.”
As is true for most of the books shared here, this one was referred to me as the story of a lawyer who grew up in rural Kentucky (I was born in Kentucky, so it had immediate interest to me). He eventually found his way to Yale, and a law degree. J.D. shares his story while inserting research and other interesting and thought-provoking ideas about the current state of our political landscape. It’s a very fast read, and if you’re looking for something to stimulate your political thinking, it’s a terrific winter weekend by the fire book.
